My Story
Hi, I’m Francine and I am a strong believer that photography teaches us to rethink how we look at the world around us and also, how we see ourselves.
As a kid, I was rather shy and not very good at expressing myself verbally. Growing up speaking two languages is a huge bonus but also kind of puts you between two worlds. This, however, made me an excellent observer. Rather than participating, I would watch and, unbeknownst to me, build an outstanding photographic eye. Later on cameras became my trusted tools to record anything and anyone that caught my attention.
The underlying element in all of my photographs is movement and flow. Paired with an excellent eye for lighting and detail, the results are dynamic yet harmonious photos with a cinematic feel. Whether it is an event, a portrait or a promotional shoot, the result is a reflection of what I see and feel with very little added to it. My clients appreciate my talent for translating the essence of their business or themselves into stills images that can represent them professionally but also authentically.
As an intuitive rather than technical photographer, I still like the “fly on the wall” approach that I had as a kid. I don’t often aim for a big set up but rather use a location, textures and items that will underline or reflect the mood and feel that we are after for a particular photograph. I will choose working on location over studio work any day, as I find it more organic, unique and “alive”. (Also, I like the challenge).
Working with me is pretty straight forward. These days I believe to be an excellent communicator (now in three languages!) and I will approach any client in a truly structured Swiss manner. I make sure to spend a lot of time to learn and understand what each client is after and will help find and define a vision for each shoot. I think that my approachable, easy going but confident nature makes it easy for clients to relax. My event clients appreciate that I am a non-intrusive photographer who knows when to blend in and when to take charge.
Francine’s main clients are small to medium businesses in the health, wellness & sports/movement industry and she is a well sought after event photographer in the corporate world. Francine is also considered Australia’s leading Martial Arts Photographer.
